does sprng doo take up more Mbs than an ordinery e-mail as my son is on only 200 mgbs ,if so what extra does it dtake ?

Hey Reg,
Yep - Springdoo will use more bandwidth than getting a normal email, because it is also sending live video and audio, which takes up a bunch of bandwidth.

Hi,
Why is it taking time to deliver the email to the recipient?
Posted by: Syed Ashrafuddin | Jun 11, 2006 at 09:41 AM
Hi Syed
The email is sent from Springdoo immediately.
If you are experiencing delays, it is probably due to your host email company (such as Hotmail, etc), as we have seen them hold email delivery. Or perhaps the email may be appearing in your Junk Mail lists first?
You should get Springdoo email as soon as Springdoo says 'Sent'.
Cheers!

I don't have a webcam. Can I use my regular video camera that records to DVD and send those? Thanks!

Hi Lindsey,
Currently you need to have a Web Cam to record video, as it streams direct to our servers. We don't have an upload facility. You might try FLVHosting or other providers.

This is great! Just wondering is it possible to save the recordings locally so as still to have access after they are removed from your server?

Hi Susan,
Currently the files are stored on our servers as Flash FLV files, so not sure how relevant that file format would be for you. In future releases we are going to provide the ability for longer term storage on our site where you can elect to keep the files for ever.
Cheers Springdude!

Great service. I saw the large banners in the gallery. Do you have anything smaller that you wouldn't mind we use on our own websites to point people to you?
Thanks,
Gary

Hi Gary,
We would LOVE for you to link to our site. We have created some banners and put them on our site so you can use them! Check out the Photo Albums on the Home page of this blog.

Hello I have just joined Springdoo, I have no Webcam but a Fuji E 500 Dig.Camera. Will that work as a Webcam?
Futher, my operating system is Windows ME. Please advice JohannesP.

Hi Johannes
Your digital camera will not work to record live video feed to Springdoo, however, Springdoo can also display a static photo when you send audio email, so your camera will come in handy!
Cheers!

For some reason even though I am logged in through the email you sent it won't work....I have a cam that it can't see and a mike that won't record. We have been using Handi Bits with no problem.HMMMM!

Hi Jackie,
Not sure why your Springdoo is doing it for you!
It is simply Flash based video and audio, so if other Flash apps work for you, then Springdoo should too!
If SPringoo cannot see your camera, then I would suggest right clicking on the Springdoo recorder and seeing if Flash itself can see your camera.
Good luck!
